Describe your wedding dress?
What did this whole Couture experience mean to you and how did you feel about your gown?
Before I met with Ivonn my girlfriends took me to Myer in the city to look at gowns. We were shown some lovely and very expensive gowns from different well known designers and while I did enjoy my day out with my girlfriends, I also knew I didn't want to go to another bridal store again and be shown dress after dress that I didn't like.
Then I was introduced to Ivonn. The entire process from beginning to end truly created the Love story I now have with my wedding dress. I met with Ivonn and showed her some photos of dresses I had seen on Instagram. Ivonn was able to take those tiny ideas and sketched in front of my eyes, my Dream gown! When we went shopping for fabric I sat back and let Ivonn make the decisions. I trusted her vision for my dress and that made the journey so much more enjoyable for me. As a result I was given a Gown that absolutely exceeded not only my expectations but my Husband's and our wedding guests!
What do you love most about the gown?
My absolute favourite part of my dress is the amazing Silk Organza detachable skirt. I couldn't keep my hands off my skirt the entire day and night! I'm definitely not a girly girl but on the day of my wedding I truly felt like the most beautiful girl in the world!
If you had to share one standout moment from your wedding day what would it be?
Our standout moment would definitely be a private moment my husband and I shared towards the end of the night. Everybody was on the dance floor having an awesome night! We stood back and watched everyone and we realized all of these people (we had 180 people attend our wedding from Australia, NZ, US, Japan and UK) were there for us. They all travelled for us and took time out of their lives to come to our wedding. It's extremely humbling we were surrounded by so much Love on the most important day of our lives.
What was your wedding date? Wedding date 16.11.16
What was your wedding venue and why did you choose there?
We got married at the Hale Koa hotel in Wakiki, Honolulu. We always wanted a destination wedding and chose Hawaii because our families and friends had never been there before and we wanted to experience a once in a lifetime holiday with our nearest and dearest family and friends.
Our photographer is Kayleen Taulaga
Hair was by my 1st cousin Kelly
Makeup was by my husband's first cousin Tahleah
Cake & Caterer
Cake and catering was from the Hale Koa. Our awesome cake topper was from Rock melon Online and it said "I love you like a fat kid loves cake" It was very much us.
I didn't have a headpiece. But Ivonn did surprise me with a stunning veil! The veil had the same lace from my dress and it was absolutely breathtaking
My husband only decided 9 weeks out from our wedding that he wanted a bridal party. I had 5 ladies in my line. All different shapes, sizes, ages and religious beliefs that affected the final dress. I found a dressmaker online in NY that made us 5 purple wrap dresses and sent them to my asap. They got to me on the Tuesday and we left for Hawaii on the Saturday. The dresses were perfect and so beautiful because the ladies could wear them however was comfortable for them.
The groom and his groomsmen all wore traditional Samoan Ie Faitaga.
We had a 3 piece acoustic band play before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. They also played "Somewhere over the rainbow" as my girls and I walked down the aisle. My cousin was our MC and entertainment for the reception.
One of my friend's bought me shoes at a local mall the morning of the wedding because I forgot. Terrible I know!! But I was too caught up in the moment, I was willing to go without shoes I didn't care. Lol!
